Christian Discipleship Center, Colorado, USA

Joe is the Director of The Christian Discipleship Center - a Bible-based recovery program for Native American Christians who want help and hope in overcoming addiction to alcohol and substance abuse and restoring their lives and families. A 90-day residential program offers sound spiritual principles for restoration, character rebuilding and life direction.

In addition to treating individuals, the Center has expanded its outreach to include spouses and other key family members, who receive counseling and spiritual guidance as their families go through the difficult process of breaking addictive habits.

JOE & EBERLY MEHESY

C.D.C.—COLORADO

June 3rd is a special day for us as a missionary couple!  Forty years ago we came to the Navajo field, arriving in Window Rock, AZ with Carol, who was only six months old.  We thank God for the 40 years of missionary service among the Native American people.

Five of the original eight men finished our program.  Thank you for praying for each of them.  Eli and Harvey left still unsaved, which was a grief to our hearts.  Homer lost focus and didn’t pursue the work that God wanted in his life.  We thank the Lord for the five who graduated on April 7th.  Ed from Alaska found Christ as Savior, and all of them had an assurance of salvation before they left.  Most had very little knowledge of the Scriptures, so the discipleship and counseling classes were both interesting and challenging for them.  We teach them to live out their new identity in Jesus and put away the things of the past that belong to the old man.  Of course 90 days here is just the beginning of the rest of their life, so please pray for them to continue to grow and be fruitful.

Eberly is doing better.  The swollen lymph tissue have shrunk and her blood tests are good.

We thank God for our eight wonderful staff families who serve our students with Christ’s love.

We thank the Lord for graduates who are being a testimony for Him in so many places.

We thank Him for new opportunities this summer to share the ministry of CDC with Native folks.
