Planting Churches in Mexico
I was raised on a farm in central Michigan. Angie was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. She had the opportunity to speak both English and Spanish in her home. We were married in 1959. By 1966, although we were active in our local church we realized that we were still living primarily for ourselves.
Then one evening we knelt in our living room and presented our bodies as a living sacrifice as Romans 12:1 asks us to do. Almost immediately we sensed God calling us to be missionaries.
"That is ridiculous, I am a farmer. I don't have the ability to be a missionary and anyway I don't want to." Those were my thoughts when a missionary couple asked me if I had ever considered becoming a missionary. However, to my amazement in August of 1970, Angie I and our children began our missionary service in Monclova, Coahuila, Mexico.
For 18 years we were involved in planting and developing churches in the northern border state of Chihuahua, Mexico. In 2002 the Lord has moved us 700 miles south to plant churches in Guadalajara and the surrounding area.
When we first came to Mexico the population was 40 million. Today there are over 100 million and only a small percentage of them have a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
LATEST NEWS
Many of you have been praying for years for Cesar, the doctor that had contracted hepatitis C many years ago at his work. He is finally completely and eternally well as he is now with his Redeemer. Angie and I were able to be with him and his family the last 24 hours of his life. Gabriela, his wife, and their two children are doing well. They miss him much, but are thankful that he is no longer suffering. We are thankful that in the funeral we were able to share the gospel with many who desperately need it.
We enjoy our Bible studies with small groups, individuals or families. It is encouraging to see the people grow in the Lord and share the gospel with others. We are studying with a couple who don’t know the Lord. Pray for Alejandro and Celia that they will come to trust in Christ alone for their salvation.
Many of our teens are struggling to walk with the Lord. There is a strong spiritual battle for their souls. Please help us pray.
Please pray for the Gudinos’ support to rise sufficiently so that they can move here in August.
Pray that we will be able to start another cell group soon. We need a cell group leader and a home to meet in. Also for the visitors that attend our meetings to be saved.
Pray for the salvation of Miguel. We have been praying for him for nine years and at least now we have the opportunity to share God’s Word with him. Thank you for caring. We are so thankful to be here!
