Dear C.B.C. Family and Friends,

Just a few minutes ago, Pastor Dan finished a live session on our Facebook page, where he reviewed some of what has happened in the last week, some key decisions that have been made, and the current plan for moving forward.  Our Servant-Leadership Team understands that this is a very fluid situation and that, based on what happens in the next few weeks, we might need to make some adjustments.  But, at this point this is how we are planning to proceed.

If you didn’t get an opportunity to view the session live, it will be archived on our Facebook page ( AND on the C.B.C. website (  On the website homepage, click on the link that reads “For the Latest Information on CBC’s Response to the Coronavirus Situation, Click Here.”  That will take you to the video, as well as a copy of this letter.

As always, if you have any questions, feel free to reach out to Pastor Dan, Pastor Nick, or one of the deacons.  We are here to continue to minister to you and our community, especially in these times that feel so uncertain.

First of all, please understand that, although church services are being suspended, the church continues to function because the church is not a building – it’s a group of people – it’s you.  And we are committed to seeing that the ministry of the church – to help people KNOW Christ…GROW in Christ…and GO for Christ – continues.  It may require a bit more flexibility and creativity, in the days ahead.  But we’re still dedicated to ministering to you.

That ministry focuses on two areas:

           (1)   Ministry to Your Spirit

        • Even though physical movement is limited, the Word of God is not bound.  And we will continue to utilize the tools that God has made available to minister God’s Word to you.  Specifically, the website and Facebook page will be very valuable in this regard.  We hope that you will check both often.  We have a plan in place to do online messages on Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. and Sundays at 10:00 a.m.  In between those sessions, we will also have devotionals/blog posts to send out to your email, Facebook page, and website, on a scheduled basis.

           (2)  Ministry to Your Physical Needs

        • The deacons will be keeping in touch with their Deacon Caring Groups.
        • We will be utilizing as many tools as possible to keep you up to date.  This includes, but is not limited to, phone, email, text, website and Facebook.  Remember, even if you don’t have a Facebook account, you can still see what is on the CBC page (  To those of you who have a Facebook account, we would encourage you, so that you get all the information that we pass along, to click the “FOLLOW” button on our page so that you get notifications of status updates or Facebook Live sessions.
        • We would encourage you to keep in contact with one another and with others in our community.  A good way to get started is to select 1 family in the CBC family and 1 family in the community, each day.  Pray for both of those families, throughout the day, and take a moment to reach out to them (phone call, text, digital message, etc.) to see how they are doing and to learn ways that you might pray for them.

Finally, we want to encourage you to take seriously the precautions that Federal and Commonwealth officials and those in the medical community have given you.  This especially applies to those who are in higher-risk categories – senior saints; those with chronic medical conditions; etc.  It really IS about being a faithful steward of the life that God has given to us.

We are praying, daily, for you and we would covet your prayers for us, in the days ahead.  If there is any other way that we can minister to you, even if it hasn’t been addressed in this letter, please don’t hesitate to call on us.

In Christ’s Love,

The C.B.C. Servant-Leadership Team
